Leading the way on climate friendly business

The BBC's senior environment correspondent Roger Harrabin introduced the awards and set the context for the significance of the event, in the same week world leaders are meeting in Bali to discuss climate change.
Harrabin pointed to the massive shift of the environment to the centre stage of political and business life, from being a fringe issue when he began reporting on it 30 years ago.
He said that not all businesses had responded adequately to the huge challenges of developing environmentally sustainable business models, but the awards recognised those who were "leading the way".
"Business is able to move a damn site quicker than government, particularly with good leadership," he said, "because unlike politicians, you are not as answerable to so many constituencies."
Among the finalists for the awards, global property group ProLogis, the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk A/S and transport services group Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics won a batch of awards between them.
ProLogis was crowned as Most Efficient Green Business and Best Overall Green Business. Its awards were collected by Ken Hall, ProLogis's managing director of global development.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics won three awards: for Best Leadership Driving Change, Best Use of Technology to Support Environmental Logistics and Most Innovative Green Business Model.
Novo Nordisk picked up awards for Best Management and Sourcing of Energy and Best Sustainable Green Business.
During the awards dinner Harabin revealed that the Green Business Awards would be back in 2008.
